Hello!
This post will help you to better navigate the forum. If you have questions, please respond to the thread or send me a direct message.
Firstly, each board in the forum is titled using a quote from an author. In the description of each board you will find the author's name, as well as a brief statement about the board's use. If you've read the introductory post title "Preface" that is located in this board, you know that here at The First Draft, writers may use a variety of styles. In order to keep the forum organized, I've designated a place for each style, including a place to write the shortest quips and thoughts. If you have ideas for future additions to the forum, you may send me a direct message or mention it in the cbox to the left.
The writing takes place under the header titled "Let's Be Storytellers". Here you will find the following boards;
In The End We'll All Become Stories - Margaret Atwood. This board is where you may write and share your short stories.
Draw A Crazy Picture, Write A Nutty Poem - Shel Silverstein If it's poetry you fancy, this is the place where you may share your work.
The Hard Part About Writing A Novel Is Finishing It - Ernest Hemingway When sharing a longer story, this is the place to post. Chapters must be in individual posts. Note the chapter title or number at the top of each post/reply. Message me for further instruction if this does not make sense.
Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost - J.R.R. Tolkien This is the board for roleplaying. In each thread, please share a few facts about the character somewhere, or write a description into your post. You may use celebrities for photos, or forgo pictures. You may re-use characters if you choose, or start with a fresh character for each thread. The threads may go on as long as you and your writing partner(s) would like. Please also note in your thread if you are open to more than one member responding.
To A Great Mind, Nothing Is Little - Sherlock Holmes If your work does not fit into the above categories - perhaps you had a thought and just wanted to record your musings, or maybe it's a work of fiction but it isn't quite long enough to call a "short story" - this is the place to share.
All posts must adhere to Proboards terms.
All posts must not exceed PG-13 in manner. All members must be respectful of each other. This is a place to share, read, review, encourage.
I hope that we will all treat each other like family, and that this will be a safe place to share your love of writing. Thank you for reading, and for visiting our site.
